240 hour Teacher Training will start in October 2007

The overall aim is to give the teacher in training a
range of adjustment techniques and knowledge to
support their own practice and what they subsequently
go on to teach. The knowledge will be relevant to
respective Hatha, Karma, Bhakti, Jnana and Raja Yoga.
The course is designed to give practical application
of yoga philosophy; in the context of
vinyasa-and-asana-technique: with particular attention
paid to Iyengar techniques- and the therapeutic side
of Iyengar yoga ,Tripsichore style sun-salutations and
Ashtanga-Vinyasa , working with the breath and bandhas
while applying the knowledge and foundation of Iyengar
practice so that adjustments can be made in all
postures to suit all students’ individual needs.
Instructions will be given in the following:
Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Pratyahara, Dharana,
Dhyana and Drishti, Bandha techniques (Mula, Uddiyana,
Jalandara), classical yoga texts as they relate to the
physical practice and anatomy-and-physiology.
The philosophy of yoga and the ethics of teaching
yoga will be covered. This intensive course will
promote an awareness and appreciation of the joy and
power of authentic yoga .
Student Eligibility
Students should have a good daily practice of yoga (2
hours per day), and have the ability to do a strong
practice .While on the training course students will
be required to continue developing their practice. It
is expected that students will be competent in Iyengar
techniques and adjustments, Tripsichore style
sun-salutations, Ashtanga-Vinyasa
by the end of the course. In between each successive
training intensives students are strongly encouraged
to use their time to continually progress and
challenge their level of practice.
